Loan Exit Workshop

Mandatory

As all loans must be paid back, the federal government has made it mandatory that students complete a Loan Exit Seminar prior to graduation. This seminar will explain and help you understand your loan repayment. Please complete the following online seminar(s) for each category in which you received a loan. To determine the loans you received while at Biola University, please reference your Financial Aid documents or your student account billing statements. My.Biola provides information on the past year only.

If you have any questions regarding a loan in Category 1 please call the Educational Loan Specialist in the Accounting office at (562) 903-4760. If you have any questions regarding a loan in Category 2 please call the Financial Aid Office at (562) 903-4742.

Departure Cards

Departure Cards must be filled out and submitted to the Registrar's Office no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2012. Please obtain signatures from all other departments before obtaining the signature from the Registrar's Office (562-903-4720).

Transcripts

Your diploma cannot be released until your financial obligations and other holds are cleared. Copies of your transcript cost $6.00 for each official copy and $3.00 for each unofficial copy. For more information, please contact the Office of the Registrar (562-903-4720).

    Immediately following Commencement, Talbot will host a reception for Talbot graduates and their guests on Sycamore Lawn.

    Immediately following Commencement, the Cook School of Intercultural Studies will host a reception for CSICS graduates and their guests in Marshburn Hall Room 4.

  • Caps & Gowns

    Students can purchase caps and gowns at Biola's Bookstore during regular Bookstore hours or online at www.biolabookstore.com.

    Please take your Bookstore receipt to your department secretary in order to receive your hood.

    TALBOT DOCTORAL STUDENTS:

    If you are a Talbot doctoral student, your regalia will be ordered for you by Kate Wong at Talbot, and your cap, gown, and hood will be available for you to pick up after May 15, in Myers Hall Room 200. The cost of the rental regalia is $50.00 and will be charged to your account. Please bring your regalia to the Baccalaureate service.

    Since doctoral regalia are rented, doctoral graduates must return all regalia to Kate Wong in Myers Hall Room 200 immediately following the commencement ceremony.

  • Photography & Video

    Chappell Studios will be taking professional photos at your Commencement Ceremony. Within 5 weeks of Commencement, you will receive a full-color proof and an order form at your permanent address from Chappell Studios. There is no obligation to purchase, and you’ll have the option of ordering from a variety of enlargement packages at very reasonable prices. For more information, please visit www.chappell.com.

    Biola’s professional film crew is producing a DVD of each ceremony that is available to purchase for $34.99 (plus your local sales tax; shipping is included in the price). Learn more and order your DVD. You may also purchase the DVD on site during Commencement rehearsals and ceremonies.

  • Diplomas & Frames

    If your academic requirements are complete and your financial obligations to the University are met, your diploma will be mailed to you at the permanent address you submitted on your Graduation Departure Form. Please allow five to six weeks for delivery.

    Diploma frames are available for purchase at the Biola Bookstore.
